KV-X Series

The KV-X is a high-performance PLC positioned as KEYENCE's latest generation. It uses a quad-core CPU to process program execution, motion control, communication and the drive recorder in parallel.

Key features of the KV-X
The KV-X is not simply faster at executing instructions; it is a new generation of PLC that processes program execution, motion control, communication and more in parallel on a quad-core CPU.

In addition to conventional ladder programs centered on device numbers, it supports programming with variable-based program design that adopts the ideas of IEC 61131-3 in mind.

In particular, by using ST (Structured Text), data processing and calculations can be written in text form, improving the structure, readability and reusability of programs.

In large-scale equipment,
  • Splitting programs by function
  • Using meaningful variable names
  • Designing programs with data types in mind
  • Using functions and function blocks
  • Calculations and data processing in ST
programming with IEC 61131-3 in mind, such as the above, improves maintainability and reusability.

Main networks of the KV-X

  • EtherNet/IP
  • EtherCAT
  • Ethernet
  • OPC UA
  • USB Type-C
  • Socket communication

With communication units, open networks such as PROFINET and CC-Link IE Field are also supported.

KV-8000 Series

The KV-8000 is a high-performance PLC that KEYENCE has offered as a high-speed, large-capacity PLC. It features large capacity and high-speed processing, with a basic instruction execution speed of 0.96 ns, 64 MB of CPU memory and a program capacity of approx. 1,500k steps.
